Air India Crash has 166 Persons as the Victims

The Air India Crash on Saturday has killed many victims and left families without loved ones. One Indian man, Samir Sheikh lost about sixteen relatives. He lost his wife, two children, uncle, and twelve others. His relatives were traveling to India to attend the funeral of their grandmother who died on Friday. Meanwhile Samir Sheikh, a Saudi Arabia-based businessman was in Mumbai waiting to travel Mangalore.

The Khaleej Times reported that 166 people were killed and there were only eight survivors after the plane skidded off the “table-top” runaway on touch down at Mangalore’s Bajpe airport and ploughed into a forested gorge, bursting into flames.

Harpreet Singh, Air India’s emergency response coordinator, said at a press briefing in Mumbai on Sunday that all 158 bodies had been recovered, and 87 had been identified and claimed by relatives.
